Betsy Kubacka, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, RDN, CDCES, is Director of Clinical Practice at Glytec and an Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner for Hartford Healthcare. Betsy's experience includes working with patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings as a registered dietitian and nurse practitioner.
Barbara A. McLean, MN, RN, CCRN, CCNS-BC, NP-BC, FCCM
Barbara McLean has been in critical care practice for 40 years. Currently, Barbara is the advancing evidence based practice clinical specialist for the division of critical care at the Grady Health System; Atlanta GA. Currently, Barbara has been intimately involved in the care of the critical COVID-19 patients during the ongoing epidemic. She has guided teams in clinical practice, assisted with development of strategies to limit exposure to staff, and has facilitated family visitation at end of life in the COVID-19 patient population. She developed a 24-hour didactic critical care course, followed by a comprehensive clinical program designed to provide support during the COVID-19 crisis. As an educator, provider and practitioner, Barbara is committed to patient care and safety; critical care practice, collegial communication and evidence-based practice implementation at the bedside. Most importantly, every day of her personal and practice life are spent working towards improving care for patients and families.

Inpatient Diabetes Care and Education Specialist
Melanie Duran, BSN, RN, CDCES, DNP-FNP Candidate is an inpatient diabetes care and education specialist at UNM Hospitals. Melanie has worked all adult populations including ICU and progressive care, and also serves as the clinical nursing lead for Glucommander. Melanie is currently pursuing a doctorate FNP degree, with a project focusing on transitions in care, and ensuring patients have a successful recovery period post-discharge. Melanie was also awarded the 2018 Rising Star award from the American Association of Diabetes Educators (now ADCES).
