Program Overview

This webinar will go over the daily demands and sources of stress for those living with type 1 diabetes. Take a look at the mental and emotional health conditions associated with type 1, including diabetes distress and burnout, depression, and anxiety disorder; as well as disordered eating. Finally, we'll review assessment tools and treatment options for these conditions.

Objectives

-- Discuss the daily challenges associated with living with and managing type 1 diabetes
-- Enumerate the mental and emotional health conditions associated with type 1 diabetes
-- Describe the Diabetes Care & Education Specialist’s role in combatting emotional challenges in patients with type 1 diabetes

Intended Audience

This activity is designed for diabetes educators, including RNs, RDs, Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, MDs, and other health care providers interested in staying up to date on current practices of care for their patients with diabetes and other related conditions.

This 60-minute online session includes a presentation followed by a question and answer period.
