The goal of this presentation is to tackle disparities and challenges that African American communities face by identifying key areas that can be addressed to bring change.

This webinar is part of a series of educational activities presented by ADCES in association with AstraZeneca-US Medical Affairs, CVMD Division. This webinar is educational in nature and contains no promotional or product information. CE credit is not available for this activity.


-- Review health disparities and explore the causes of disparities among African American patients
-- Discuss health disparities in cardiovascular diseases including hypertension, heart failure, diabetes and chronic kidney disease among African American patients
-- Address the unmet need and raise awareness for patients and HCPs of African Heritage regarding the effects of cardiovascular diseases in the community

Activity Type:

This 60-minute online session includes a brief presentation followed by an interactive discussion with questions and answers from the audience.

Intended Audience

This activity is designed for diabetes care and education specialists, including RNs, RDs, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physicians, PAs, and other health care providers interested in staying up to date on current practices of care for people with diabetes and other related conditions.
