This event highlights the complexity of coexisting eating disorders as
they exist within the diabetes community in order to increase attendees
skills and confidence in providing diabetes care and education in this
Objective: Increase knowledge and self-efficacy for providing care to
patients with diabetes in conjunction with an eating disorder.
Target Audience: This activity is designed for individuals or groups
of diabetes care and education specialists including RNs, RDs,
Pharmacists, and other health care providers interested in staying up to
date on current practices of care for people with coexisting diabetes
and eating disorders.
For successful completion, participants are required to attend the full
activity, and complete and submit the program evaluation at the
conclusion of the educational event.

MPH, RD, CDCES
Presentation followed by case review and discussion.
Makenzie Johnson, MPH, RD, CDCES, has no relevant financial relationships with ineligible companies Makenzie Johnson is a registered dietitian with a Masters of Public Health from the University of Texas at Houston. Working as a dietitian and diabetes educator since 2015, Makenzie has extensive experience working with the diabetes population as well as eating disorder patients. Makenzie currently works at the University of Colorado Health as a diabetes educator.
