Keep up with the latest guildelines for the use of medication in the treatment of type-2 diabetes. We will cover how the different blood glucose lowering agents work, and how they can fit into patients' therapy to achieve better control of their diabetes.
The purpose of this program is to share guidelines for the use of various medications for treating type 2 diabetes.
Learning ObjectivesAt the end of this presentation, participants will
be able to:
- Summarize changes to recent national guidelines for care of patients with type 2 diabetes
- Differentiate between the mechanism of action, efficacy, and place in therapy for each of the blood glucose lowering agents
- Design a treatment plan to improve blood glucose control and lower A1C levels in patients with type 2 diabetes
Intended AudienceThe AADE Webinars are knowledge-based
activities designed for individual or groups of diabetes educators, including
RNs, RDs, Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists,
Physician Assistants, MDs, and other health care providers interested in staying
up to date on current practices of care for their patients with diabetes and
other related conditions.
