Learning Outcome

Learners will understand the purpose of DANA and how to navigate relevant resources to assist with their practice in diabetes education.

This is a knowledge-based learning activity. This 60-minute online session includes a presentation followed by a question and answer period.

-- Summarize the functionality of the App Review in DANA.
-- Determine how to navigate the DANA website to find specific information.

Intended Audience

The AADE Webinars are knowledge-based activities designed for individual or groups of diabetes educators, including RNs, RDs, Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, MDs, and other health care providers interested in staying up to date on current practices of care for their patients with diabetes and other related conditions.

Accreditation Statement

Registered Nurses

The American Association of Diabetes Educators is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This program provides 1.0 contact hour of continuing education credit.

The AADE is also accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CEP # 10977).

Registered Dietitians

The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AM001) is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). CDR Credentialed Practitioners will receive 1.0 Continuing Professional Education unit (CPEU) for completion of this activity/material. Continuing Professional Education Provider Accreditation does not constitute endorsement by CDR of a provider, program, or materials.

Registered Pharmacists

The American Association of Diabetes Educators is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program provides 1.0 contact hour (0.10 CEUs) of continuing education credit.

Certified Diabetes Educators

To satisfy the requirements for renewal of certification for the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators (NCBDE), continuing education activities must be diabetes related and approved by a provider on the NCBDE list of Approved Providers (www.ncbde.org). NCBDE does not approve continuing education. The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) is on the NCBDE list of Approved Providers.

Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM)

AADE is the administering body for the Advanced Diabetes Management credentials. Continuing education programs offered by AADE can be used toward fulfilling BC-ADM Certification and recertification requirements.
