Program Overview

This webinar will discuss the etiology of type 1 diabetes, from the causes and risk factors to diagnostic criteria, as well as treatment. We'll go in-depth into the changes and challenges of those living with type 1 diabetes across the lifespan - from early childhood all the way through senior care. And finally, we'll review the future implications - treatment options, prevention, and cure.

-- Establish a framework for educating and caring for people with Type 1 diabetes.
-- Prepare to handle the evolving physical and emotional needs of the Type 1 population.
-- Separate fact from fiction on the state of research into Type 1 diabetes.

Intended Audience

This activity is designed for diabetes educators, including RNs, RDs, Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, MDs, and other health care providers interested in staying up to date on current practices of care for their patients with diabetes and other related conditions.

Activity Type

This 60-minute online session includes a presentation followed by a question and answer period.
