Program Overview

Obesity continues to reach epidemic levels, with over one third of U.S. adults obese.  As a diabetes educator, you are in a unique position to bring about change by encouraging the individuals you work with to make healthier choices and educating them on available treatment options.  AADE is pleased to offer a 4-part webinar series designed to equip you with the knowledge you need to address healthy eating, physical activity, medications, and surgical options with your patients.  The second webinar in this series focuses on the role of physical activity in preventing and treating obesity.  In this webinar, you will learn to create a safe and effective exercise program as well as strategies for helping patients overcome barriers due to diabetes and obesity.

The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to create a safe and effective exercise/physical activity prescription for a person with diabetes and obesity.
