Marcia's first husband died from complications relating to uncontrolled diabetes less than 2 years after they got married. It was heartbreaking to see him go blind and on dialysis.
Now, 21 years later, she has her own business. Her true joy is helping people with diabetes manage their blood sugars so they don’t have to stress about complications. They are always surprised that she gives them permission to enjoy ice cream and pasta. She wants them to live a full life, to be able to play in the sand and surf with their grandkids; to live long and active lives.
She understands how overwhelming it can be. She walks clients through step-by-step so they can control their blood sugars at a safe level. Clients tell her they are relieved when they see they don’t have to go on meds and they realize that the changes they needed to make in their life were actually achievable and they could still have an occasional “Snickers” bar.
She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, as well as a Certified Diabetes Educator. She is a member of Bay County Chamber of Commerce and Emerald Coast Business Women's Association.
