The formation of new, health-promoting habits is key to sustaining lifestyle changes such as healthy eating, being active, managing stress, and self-monitoring. Through this webinar, participants will learn the why behind healthy habit formation, and how coaches can support these changes through strategies like piggybacking, restructuring cues, supporting implementation plans, and building cognitive resilience. The session will equip participants with skills to guide their participants from a self-control framework to a framework focused on healthy routines. By integrating research with real-world coaching experience, this webinar helps coaches advance their skills so that program participants can sustain their self-care behaviors long-term.
Learners will have a new or increased understanding of the habit formation approach and its benefits for individuals attempting lifestyle change to prevent or manage diabetes. Learners will also have the knowledge of methods for teaching a habit formation approach.
At the end of this presentation,
