Program Overview

Many diabetes educators have limited experience coaching and training patients on optimal use of inhaled insulin. This webinar focuses on the technical aspects of inhaled insulin, overcoming challenges associated with its use, and identifying appropriate candidates based on inhaled insulin’s unique characteristics.

Learning Outcome

Participants will gain the knowledge needed to assist insulin-using patients with diabetes to use inhaled insulin effectively.

Registered Nurses

The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This program provides 1.5 contact hours of continuing education credit.

ADCES is also accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CEP # 10977). 

Registered Dietitians

The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (AM001) is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). CDR Credentialed Practitioners will receive 1.5 Continuing Professional Education units (CPEUs) for completion of this activity/material. Continuing Professional Education Provider Accreditation does not constitute endorsement by CDR of a provider, program, or materials.

Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists

To satisfy the requirements for renewal of certification for the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE), continuing education activities must be diabetes related and approved by a provider on the CBDCE list of Approved Providers (www.CBDCE.org). CBDCE does not approve continuing education. The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES) is on the CBDCE list of Approved Providers.

Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM)

ADCES is the administering body for the Advanced Diabetes Management credentials. Continuing education programs offered by ADCES can be used toward fulfilling BC-ADM Certification and recertification requirements.
