Overview: As the second of three modules on continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), this AdaptED activity is engineered with adaptive learning technology to personalize your education. This module will test your knowledge and give you unique feedback based on your question responses. This module will include an explanation of the types of data obtained with CGM, including the components of the ambulatory glucose report (AGP), and how to interpret this information for individual diabetes management.

The three AdaptED activities include:

  1. CGM Selection and Initiation in People with Type 2 Diabetes
  2. Interpreting CGM Data: Deciphering the Ambulatory Glucose Profile to Understand Glycemic Control
  3. Applying CGM Data to Clinical Practice in People with Type 2 Diabetes 

Intended Audience: This activity is designed for individual or groups of diabetes educators, including RNs, RDs, Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, MDs, and other health care providers interested in staying up to date on current practices of care for their patients with diabetes and other related conditions.

Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists

To satisfy the requirements for renewal of certification for the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE), continuing education activities must be diabetes related and approved by a provider on the CBDCE list of Approved Providers (www.cbdce.org). CBDCE does not approve continuing education. The Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists is on the CBDCE list of Approved Providers.

Other Health Professionals

ADCES is the administering body for the Advanced Diabetes Management credentials. Continuing education programs offered by ADCES can be used toward fulfilling BC-ADM Certification and recertification requirements.
