Description

Innovating Decisions and Empowering Action in Diabetes Management (IDEA)

This new course gives you the tools to effectively facilitate shared decision-making and promote better self-management based on CGM data for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. After completing an overview module covering topics such as CGM basics, the role of personal and professional CGM to transform practice, CGM metrics and challenges to CGM adoption, select three interactive case scenarios to complete that are most relevant to your practice. During each case, you will hear expert faculty review CGM tracings in detail, provide their observations and analysis, and share how they would coach their clients and empower them to interpret their CGM data.

Case Study Scenarios (each scenario includes 2-3 interactive, clinical cases):
• Nocturnal Hypoglycemia
• Daytime Hypoglycemia
• Hypoglycemia Unaware
• Post-Prandial Hyperglycemia
• Hyperglycemia All the Time
• Rollercoaster Variability
• No Obvious Pattern

This course was developed in collaboration between AACE, ADCES, ACCP, ASEPA/AAPA, and IDC.
