Title of the Program: Diabetes Self-Management Training: Reimbursement Essentials, 3rd Edition
Date, Time and Location of the program: July 22, 2018-July 22, 2021; Online Course
Program Overview: DSMES programs frequently have their reimbursement claims denied by CMS / private
payers, resulting in additional staff time correcting and resubmitting claims and in lost revenue. In addition,
program staff are often unaware of the other reimbursable services, aside from DSMES, and/or they do not know the rules for securing reimbursement.

- Explain the Medicare Program & its components.
- Explain the distinctions between CPT® codes, HCPCS codes, secondary codes, and ICD-10 Codes.
- Describe the DSMT services under Medicare.
