This is AADE's annual update on reimbursement issues and changes for 2019 for diabetes educators that may impact DSMT and DPP. We'll also review the Final CMS 2019 Payment Rules.
Learners will gain understanding on how to maintain appropriate reimbursement for DSMT or DPP programs and understand reimbursement changes for 2019.
At the end of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

-- Describe essential coding and coverage criteria for DSMT
-- Explain additional revenue opportunities for DSMT programs
-- Describe updates for CMS Final rule for Diabetes Prevention Programs

The American Association of Diabetes Educators is accredited as a provider of
continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. This program provides 1.5 contact hours of continuing education
AADE is also accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CEP # 10977).
The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AM001) is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). CDR Credentialed Practitioners will receive 1.5 Continuing Professional Education units (CPEUs) for completion of this activity/material. Continuing Professional Education Provider Accreditation does not constitute endorsement by CDR of a provider, program, or materials.
American Association of Diabetes Educators is accredited by the Accreditation
Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy
education. This program provides 1.50 contact hours (0.15 CEUs) of
continuing education credit.

Certified Diabetes Educators
To satisfy the requirements for renewal of certification for the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators (NCBDE), continuing education activities must be diabetes related and approved by a provider on the NCBDE list of Approved Providers (www.ncbde.org). NCBDE does not approve continuing education. The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) is on the NCBDE list of Approved Providers.
Board Certified Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM)
AADE is the administering body for the Advanced Diabetes Management credentials. Continuing education programs offered by AADE can be used toward fulfilling BC-ADM Certification and recertification requirements.
